AI Product Designer — Safety-Critical Systems • Multimodal Interaction • Human-AI Trust

I design AI systems for high-stakes contexts — where the interface earns trust or people get hurt. My work sits at the edge of what AI product design usually covers: non-visual interaction, safety-critical feedback loops, and the hard problem of making machine output legible to humans under pressure.

I work end-to-end across problem framing, user research, interaction architecture, and technical prototyping. I’m strongest where design meets real-world constraint: on-device inference limits, sub-500ms latency requirements, multimodal redundancy for users who can’t rely on a single sensory channel. In AI and XR, product success depends on aligning human behavior, hardware constraints, sensing pipelines, and real-time feedback — and I’ve built systems that do all four simultaneously.

The interface is the contract between human judgment and machine output. That’s the principle that drives every product decision I make.

My background in journalism and media production is not a detour — it’s a foundation. Knowing how humans process information under pressure, how to structure a signal so it lands in the right order, and how to earn attention in high-noise environments: those skills transfer directly into designing AI systems that work when it matters. They inform how I think about voice interaction, alert hierarchy, and cognitive load in safety-critical contexts.
